Its a Vario Elmar 35-70 f3.5 with E60 filter thread

There is no "Made in...." that I can see so I assume it is not made in Germany. Think it may be a Japanese lens.

Reading around various places it certainly gets a (y) from the reviewers, so I have some print film knocking about, that I will test the camera/lens with.

Yes yes before you all get upset I have a load of black and white and transparency film to run through it as well. The print film is just to test it. :D

I am debating whether to buy a 35-70 VE or to go for a 2 primes. I saw mixed review of this lens; so I would really be very interested in your feedback as a user ( you know how some of these internet review are like...you never know how much the writer knows about photogrpahy.)

Also do you have a feel for what I should expect to pay for one.
