Anybody use these with a 7d? Are they any good? There seem the quickest on specs. ?
 
David, before splashing out on super-fast memory cards you need to consider if the camera can make use of the speed. If not, then you're wasting your money.

Just because you put an 800x card into the slot doesn't mean the images will be read to the card any faster.

True im using a canon 7d
 
I have the exact card you are on about, I got mine from mymemory for super cheap and I'm using it on a 5D. I can get to the top of the RAW buffer and it will take a maximum of about 5 seconds for the buffer to finish. That's near enough 35 full resolution RAW images written to the card in no time at all.

The 7D at full chat high res will obviously get to that buffer faster, but the Lexar card is super fast so you are not going to have a problem with it. Just buy it. In actual fact, sandisks 30mbp/s cards will work just as fine too.

It looks like they will work at full speed. Anything before and including 1DIII will not utilise the full UDMA6/7 speeds (1DsIII, 50D, 50D, 7D onwards are all "good")

Yep, can confirm this. Have the 16GB 1000x Lexxar paired with the 5D3 and it makes a huge difference to my 'older' cards.
 
So i can expect to see a difference from the 30mb sandisc things im ising atthe moment??

If you fire long 8fps bursts, then you will notice some difference, otherwise not really

Thanks, i often find that its a little slow after taking a picture sometimes
 
As far as it concerns 5D3 it makes a big different. I shoot in RAW and with my older cards it can takes a couple of seconds after I shoot 3 or 4 shots until I can fire the next couple of shots.
