Lexar pro CF and Transcend card reader - won't fit

I'm having problems fitting a Lexar Pro 800x compact flash card into my Transcend RDF8K USB3 card reader. It just won't slot in all the way.

Have Lexar designed the card so it only fits into their own brand of card readers? I hope not. :(

Any ideas?
 
Don't think they would have - I can fit my Lexar card in my Sandisk reader.

I suspect it maybe a bent pin in the reader (providing your are putting it in the right way :) ) - have a very good look inside the reader to see if you can see a pin bent ...
 
Yeah, it does appear to have some bent pins in it. That's annoying as I can't remember ever having used a CF card in it before.

Looks like I'll have to buy a new one. Great.

Can anyone recommend a decent value USB3 one?

I use a Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader for CF and SD duties. Can't compare its performance with any other USB 3 readers since it works well so haven't needed anything else! Much faster than any of the built in readers on any of my machines.

Have the Lexar USB 3.0 x 4 hub and it is excellent. Different readers fit the hub for different cards, but it is decidedly fast. Individual Lexar readers can be bought without the hub and work just as well if you are unlikely to be downloading multiple cards.

I've a Sandisk Imagemate and as Nod a lexar USB 3 CF / SD reader. Both work well - the Lexar one is much quicker as its USB 3 and also possibly work for best results with your Lexar card.

Will grab a Lexar card reader sometime this week.

Are the pins in it fairly sturdy? I don't know why the pins in my current Transcend card reader were bent. I'm kind of worried that it will happen again.
