In general what would you expect from a Nikon D300 in shutter clicks? I have saw other cameras being mentioned but not the D300. I know its only very general but it would give me an idea.

Hey, dumb question here, but what's the difference? Do you mean, pressing and holding for a burst counts as one, whereas three separate shots count as three?

I can't see that it matters one jot whether you call them clicks or actuations, cycles or shots. They all add up to the same thing:shrug:
