Light Bulbs?

Hi all i have seen a few shots on here of macro light bulbs.

I have been trying this myself and without much luck i may add. Is there settings you should go for to get this shot right and a camera mode that works best?

I am using a Sigma 70mm macro lens will this even do the trick???

I think the OP was refering to this type of shot Macro sub forum

The Exif info gives the following
Exposure Time = 0.8"
F Number = F6.3
Exposure Program = Manual
ISO Speed Ratings = 100

After that I have no idea how it's done
