I'm looking for a reasonably priced (£30 or under really) light stand, that is portable yet capable of holding a strobe with either small soft box or umbrella and to be used on location. In the past I've bought konig which are pretty useless, Lastolite ones that wasn't portable enough. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks, I had considered that but it's a bit pricey for a light stand I wondered if there were any alternatives?

Yeah the Konig :bonk:
I have both and although the Nano is more sturdily built the Kong seems to do the job most of the time for what it cost. Not sure there's something inbetween :gag:

I've found the most important thing would be to take something to weigh it down. I've got konig ones that i've used on location and they've needed to be held if theres a modifier on there, just bare speedlight seemed to be okay. At the same time i've got some very sturdy lencarta ones that made a break for freedom at an event afew weeks ago due to it having an umbrella on it. It started to topple but fortunately was caught by myself that was standing practically under it

Thanks Andy. Mark those Elinchrom ones might be just the ticket cheers for that, found some at Calumet too. There's not much to choose between the 3 (Manfrotto, Elinchrom or Calumet) just a few quid...
