I'm stuck between polaroids are tacky and the fact that its a bit different.

I think the 'polaroids' are OTT and distracting. However it is a truth generally acknowledged (at least where I work) that I am the last person to listen to about website design, given the unrelenting antipathy I have for javascript and flash ...

is ok I think it too a little bit (hence the thread), will dig out another lightbox plugin and compare them

I actually quite like the polaroid approach and it's a bit different!
Depends what you a looking to depict on the website - funky approach - then stick with them!
