Hi

Can anyone recommend a good book for studio lighting set-ups? I have a basic experience of studio lighting but I am looking for something to run through the basics then step up to the next level. Ideally it would have diagrams of the lighting set-ups and images of the results.

If you are new to studio lighting you should start with Light: Science and magic. You could learn by looking at diagrams of setups, or you could understand why the lights are setup the way they are too.

The other book they list there Lighting and dynamic portrait is really good too, and has diagrams, but you really need to have some basic understanding of lighting and terms to really get all the stuff in that book.

Edit: @Icolclough we had the same thought..... LOI
