So I know this must be a somewhat ridicules question but I'm kind of new to portrait photography. I'v always taken photos but they normally have been nature shots. I'm wondering what would be a descent lighting kit that would be good to use in out door sessions. I'm kind of on a budget so anything under $300 would be great. Plus I was looking for something that would work off battery instead of a battery pack. I thought of using just a hot shoe flash but wasn't sure. Any suggestions.

Lencarta Safari are the ones we used on a remote night shoot Clicky Linky that similar to the set up we used, not sure about getting it all for $300 though.

Thanks a bunch;) like I said I'm new to lighting and have been hesitant on buying because of possibly buying the wrong thing. Iv used a canon rebel slr for so long and have finally been able to afford a canon t2i so I decide to step
It up a level.
 
I've had it for almost a year now, bought it last Christmas for my college motion picture class. But I suppose that was more of an excuse to get it. The only digital cameras I had ever had were always point and shoot which took nice photos but would never give me what my slr aloud me to do. The only down side with my slr was that I was never able to see my pictures like I'm able to now. That's not to say that I've completely gone digital, I still use from time to time and plan on keeping it long after it finally kicks the bucket. :)

I also like to make videos, but not done much with the 7D as yet, aye I still love my film camera, I used to develop and print my own but now I sold off my darkroom stuff last year,

Have you got any shots we can see?
 
Have a few not too sure how to upload them with the iPhone app if u can tell me how I'd be more than happy to post a few for some feed back :)

Dont think you can upload them to TP with a phone Ryan, I could be wrong though, I dont go in for all these new fangle phones, mine just for calling or texts, it has got internet enabled, but I never use it, so cant help on that front
 
I can't seem to get any to load but I have most of them on my facebook page I'll try posting a few to the TP page for some comments. Hope to hear a few from you ;) and thanks for all your help I will definitely look into the safari.
