hi, i'm new on here. i've searched but i'm looking for a 'how to' for lightpainting, could anybody please point me in the right direction?

You could try tutorials and guides

camera, dark space, set to manual, set shutter to about 30 seconds 100 iso and what ever f stop would suit.

then jump around like a giddy ant with various torches etc.

what are you thinking about light painting
do you mean using ie a torch to light up a subject or say some one
that uses led's to paint drawing's orb's etc
like when you a kid some one spins a spakler in front of you and you see a picture

Thanks, I was rather pleased with myself I think from reading your thread and later comments after my post you are looking at light painting cars and stuff, in which case I would suggest checking out Andrew's work, (AndWhyNot) a very tallented member that is truly brilliant at automotive light painting
