Lightroom catalogue help please

Hi guys any Lightroom experts amongst you ?

I use an external hard drive to store my photos. Anyway I had some folders issues because Lightroom wouldn't recognise the folders - to rectify this I synchronised my catalogues. But what it's done is effectively removed all the editing I ever did on each photo . So all my photos have back to square one and I've lost all the post-processing I've done.

I have no idea what I've done wrong and can't seem to undo it - does anyone know if I can rescue this or have I messed it all up??

Somebody has suggested File > Open catalogue...

And restore from a backup which I did regularly but how do I select the most recent backup?

check under file , export - then export location , export to .
At least you still have the post edit photos.

When you do a backup it creates a new directory with the current date and stores the catalogue in there. Make a copy of your current catalogue, as a precaution, and then copy the one from the latest backup over the current one.
