Beginner Lightroom Catalogue

Best way to set up a 2020 catalogue in Lightroom without it rearranging the "month" folders that I type in.

Where (and why) are you typing in “month folders”?

set up a catalogue - mozziephotography 2020 Inside that folder - Months - then within those folders, races I've snapped at and other outings. I know what you are going to say …

I just like to problem solve to keep the grey matter going

Inside a ‘photography folder‘ you could use the ‘year > month > day’ auto folder creation option then rename the ‘day’ folders to the name of each race. I do something similar as I rename the day folder with a rough location/subject ie Lake District, Norfolk Seals etc but I do keep the day number so it’s 17 Lake District, 18 Lake District etc if there are multiple days to a trip. So far I have year folders going back to 2012 in one LR catalogue. That seems to work well for me.

Trying my best to iron out all the "failings" of the past few years. I MUST get into the habit of using KEYWORDS more.
