Lightroom - Custom Cropping.

Super quick question.

Using Lightroom is there anyway I can have the crop set to custom (unlocked) by default ?

No - it's not a wind up!

I asked originally, and then thought I had found how to change it using the default settings - it hasn't worked though

All I want is so that when I am in DEVELOP mode, and I click on the crop overlay (or press R) - the crop thing is set at custom and unlocked. It's only a little thing, but I have over 500 images I want to get edited - so cutting the resize of the crop thing out will save a bit of time.

Any ideas guys ?

I don't know if this works but it does for me.


select an image press R
Don't move any of the corners yet
click the padlock to unlock the crop tool
now move until happy
Press R to confirm the crop
move on to the next image and when you press R you should find it's set to unlock.

Reverse to set at a fixed ratio.
