Yes
Does anyone else have this issue or know why it may happen.

Some nights it just freezes, or will crash completely and re-start with images missing from the bottom strip, freeze up again etc.

After experiencing these issues tonight it now refuses to open the app at all.

Can't say I've had any issues, but maybe easier to narrow down help if you state which version of Lightroom and which operating system you are using.

Classic and on a standard laptop Windows 10. I have just read on the settings menu Im not getting updates anymore or security updates so maybe it would be better in Windows 11 ?

When you say a standard laptop running windows 10, what is the specification of the laptop ?

Both my body & brain freeze & crash all the time. And you're worried about software? Perspective is a thing ...

Dont know, average Lenover laptop AMD 5 processor SSD

I upgraded CCleaner to pro and updated lots of outdated stuff, cleared lots of old stuff away.

Just tried it and it worked fine, maybe my drives and memory were clogged with junk ?

It's always helpful to reboot before running a program that's as resource hungry as LrC. Windows leaves data in memory when shutting down, and requires a restart (not a shut down and turn back on) to clear it. Your laptop may be a bit marginal for resources, and that won't help. It might also be worth removing applications from the startup menu so it starts cleaner.

The processor is ok as long as it's paired with enough RAM and a good sized SSD. My own PC is very high spec, but LRC is sometimes sluggish. I also think file size plays a part in slow processing. I don't seem to have problems in other software, having said that LRC does have a catalogue, which depending on the size I'm guessing must also play a part. a while back I had to phone Adobe, because I was getting exasperated will how slow it was processing one particular image, It turned out the file size was massive, as I had put it through Topaz enlarger, and had forgotten about that fact when I exported it back into LRC, and that was the problem. It does seem however that a lot of people have had problems over the years with LRC, to the point they have moved onto other software. If you haven't already take a look at the standard requirements for LR/PS on the Adobe website, they do say a minimum of 8gb of RAM I would actually say 16gb should be the minimum, but that's just me personally, as I have 32gb and as I previously said, it is still sometimes sluggish.
