I've recently installed Lightroom on my PC, not sure which version. To be honest I'm struggling somewhat with it, can anyone recommend a good book or even website that'll start simple?

Have you tried searching for some tutorial videos on YouTube? Not 100% sure on this, but I think there may be a few basic starter videos on the Adobe website.
 
Lightroom 3 by Scott Kelby gets a lot of recommendations, from Amazon.

His book for Lightroom 4 is out next month I think.
 
I have used Scott Kelby's book, it is very simple to use an easy way to learn Lightroom in my opinion, but I also backed it up with a few adobe video tutorials.
 
You can get a month's membership to lynda.com for less than the price of a book. I'd totally recommend their video tutorials on Lightroom and Photoshop. You can get free previews of the courses on the site.
 
slrlounge.com has a fantastic video series for free with 20-30 parts takes your through all the modules in detail

I second this; for what works out to be about £15 a month for the standard membership there are loads of useful video tutorials on lynda.com, and they've really worked for me. You can sign up for a free 1-week trial to see if they suit you. I also have the Martin Evening book for reference, but for learning any GUI tool I tend to find books a bit dry if you're learning from scratch; videos are where it's at :thumbs:
