Lightroom not opening my RAW files?

Hi guys,

I was given a Nikon D750 not long ago, and today I finally had time to give it a go.

I loaded the photos on to my laptop and tried to open the RAW files in Lightroom and it wouldn't even recognise them. Anyone else having this problem?
 
Support for the Nikon D750 was introduced with Lightroom 5.7 update. Ensure that you are running the latest version.

Looks like I'm well out of luck with that one then... I'm still using Lightroom 4! :O

Do I need at least lightroom 5 for it to read the RAW files now then?
 
Unfortunately, you'll not get support for the D750, in Lightroom 4. Updates stopped when LR 5 was launched.

I believe you can use the Adobe DNG program (free download) to convert the Nef (raw) files from your Nikon D750 to the Adobe DNG format which will permit you to import those into LR 4.

Bit of a hassle and probably best to update to LR5.
