Lightroom-Spot Removal Issue

Real strange problem...its a intermittent basically after a couple of edits with the spot removal tool everything works fine. Then I tried to use the tool again and I can't move curser around the image on the screen I can only move the curser around the menu options but as soon as I try to move it on the image the spot removal just freezes once I move it back to the menu Lightroom works normally again.

I have to restart LR each time this happens which as you can imagine is a real pain! Google doesnt really give me much info-can anyone help?
