My OH is nagging me to take the camera to various gigs. It is very poor at anything much above iso 800 (at a push) and the pop up flash.. No matter what I do to diffuse it looks ghastly.

I look at the flashes available and realise I have no idea how to grade these other than by price!

Please point me to some info.

id go with a 430exii..not too badly priced compared to the 580exii which cost a bomb now! used both , and for the price id take the 430exii anyday..it does lack some features of the 580, but nothing to major
