Lightweight small tripod for backpack - compact camera ?

Hi all

on a bit of a buying spree!

Need a small lightweight tripod which will fit in a rucksack bag for a compact camera.

My budget is £30 tops.

I have had a look and found the gorilla pod hybird but a lot of people say this will move a small amount when pressing the shutter.

Other than that complete mindfield

Have a look at the Hama Traveller Mini Pro, about £20 new with a little ball head. Only goes to about 1 metre high but it weighs next to nothing. Use mine a lot with my Nikon V1 and it does The job fine.

hi mate if you use the self timer it stops the movement well

easily fit, if I am out for a casual ride taking pics it fits into the map pocket on my motorbike jacket..

pic showing all 3 of my compact tripods next to a cd for reference, as you can see its super small compared to the Hama and Manfrotto..

weight wise if I hold tripod in one hand and cased iPad Mini in the other I cannot decide which weighs more.

Wow, that little Summit tripod is magic.
How much weight would it safely hold though? :rolleyes:
 
I use one of these Tamracs with my Canon G12. It's got it's limitations obviously but I've got shots with it, particularly at night time, that I wouldn't have done handheld. If you splay the legs and use timer release it's surprisingly effective. I think I paid a little over £20 for it. It's for holidays really, and those times when I carry a camera just in case, when the DSLR and Gitzo 1542 are left at home. http://www.tamrac.com/products/zipshot/

Wow thats amazing, and it would support my Sony A7 and the 70-200mm lens from a weight prespective. :)

After looking at the video this looks awesome! Really tempted now spot on!

Can you lock the legs at different heights?
 
I have the Gorillapod Hybrid you mention and although its not something i use that much it seems fine when i have used it, Plenty or good reviews on buyers over on Amazon com and co.uk
