Just days after finding my first ever Emperor on Chobham Common, I stumble over a second on a different Surrey Wildlife Trust site.

This one is a male, and in far better condition than the female from last week.

You could say I'm fairly pleased by this turn of events..........

Thanks all, I'm buzzing!

:agree: with the agreed statment lol

What finds these moths are love the dreamy effect in #1 (y)

Yeah, I like that. That really was my 'panic to get at least one shot' shot. Once I'd established it was going to be relatively easygoing I could relax, and even do a little gardening of the heather that was in the way.

He flew away when I got a bit too close at one point, but circled round for a bit, and then landed in the same open patch of heather, only 20 yards away, on an even clearer perch. Result.

Agreed :agree: with :agree: enough said. Well not really, Mark you are the Emperor of Bugs, Critters and the like :D
