Hey people,

Would some one be able to help me out and tell me if a 70-200mm AF-S Nikkor f2.8 ED VR II lens would work ok with a Nikon D7000?

Cheers guys

Yes, fine, 100%.

It would work, the crop factor would mean it gives a image similar to an 105 to 300mm lens on the 35mm full frame sensor.

it gives you a 105-300mm lens with a f2.8 maximum aperture.
No, it's a 70-200mm lens. It doesn't magically change its size just because it's mounted on a particular camera.

How would a

Tamron SP AF 70-200mm F/2.8 Di LD [IF] Macro Lens for Nikon

work?

Sorry, let me re phrase that, it gives the equivalent of a 105-300mm on a full frame DSLR or a 35mm film SLR, as the OP did ask about the effect of the crop factor.

Ok as Stewart has said it will always be a 70-200 but because of the crop factor the reduced field of view will make it "appear" like a 105-300, it would have the same no of pixels on the area as a 105-300 on a ff camera but you won't be any closer.
However stop worrying about it and get used to how the camera frames the shot and take some great images :)
