Most tablets & notebooks have an video signal output not an input.

I use a 7" Lilliput LCD HDMI camera monitor on my Nikon cameras.

Ideal for using when shooting macro from awkward angles

on android tablets ther is a program called DSLR Remote that allows live view through the tablet
you will need an OTG usb cable to get the program to work

All Canon dSLRs come with software that'll let you do this with any windows laptop.
