i like the images and wish you had posted them to the full size allowed, 800 pixels on longest side, #1 is at a slight slant and #2 is my pick as i like the treatment and the capture

I agree #2 is the best of the lot for me very nice capture.

Number 2 for me. I like the contrast between the sky and clouds and the grass. The only thing I would try is to bring the grass out a bit more (with some local contrast boosting perhaps). I have tried it on a similar images and found that PS plugin called PercepTool works rather well (it's expensive for what it does so I'd suggest to use a trial version to see the effect).

thank you all for the comments, i was surprised that no 2 was the favourite, no 5 is my favorite.

the church did have a second exposure mixed in to give slight highlights on the brickwork (a subtle hdr i suppose) and i was full camera frame (no cropping done)

I'm with you on that, number 5 stands out miles for me. I like it a lot.
