London Location for an actor shoot.

I'm on a portrait course at the moment and tomorrow I have two hours with an actor to get portrait shots for them. I don't know who it is yet, but am trying to think of locations that look great but are easy to get to from Oxford St.

one idea I'd like to explore is to short in an abandoned building, a warehouse or strain, something like that.

is there anywhere easy to access that I could use tomorrow? The weather isn't going to be great, so I want an indoor location that has some character and isn't stereotypical London.

Abandoned buildings are a tough one because you're not going to find much like that within hopping distance of the West End. Well, not ones that you can easily gain entry to with half a day's notice.

What's your brief? Are you planning on making fairly straightforward actor's headshots or do you want more in the way of character? Are you using natural light, a bit of small flash or will you be putting light stands down? Do you have an assistant?

The brief is quite open. Capture some emotions, but th shots will be provided to the actors so that they can use them, ski portfolio shots.


I will have one flash on remotes, no assistant. I'd like the location to add some drama to shots, so alleys or covered walkways may be my best bet. Especially with the rain.
