Has anyone been to Loch Fleet?

Specifically interested in the seals. The loch is about an hours drive north of me, which is a little closure than Donna Nook!!!

Does anyone know if the seals pup there?

Also will I need longer peace of glass than 400mm, although I may have access to a 1.4tc for manual focus?

I've been told it works very well as, you're on the south side of the loch, which should give you some good light. Can anyone confirm?

Not sure about pups but the sand banks the seals tend to come out on are a little way from the shore, so I think a 1.4tc will be handy.

Another place to see seals on your way up is just after you go over the Cromarty bridge there is a layby and the seals come out onto the rocks and sand banks much closer than I have seen them at Loch Fleet but it's not such a peacefull place to stop.

I was affraid they would be a little from the shore :(, so I'll def take the 1.4tc. Need to talk to girlfriend nicely. ;)

I am aware of the seals by the Cromarty bridge, but you're always shooting into the sun which I am trying to avoid with loch fleet.
