Hello - whilst on a visit to the isle of Mull last week I took this photo.

Now I am a beginner and I am really proud of this shot - everything was set to fully manual and for once its not all blurred lol. The only editing I did was to crop out a couple of blades of long grass that had crept in the bottom of the shot.

Please let me know what you think - Am I finally starting to get somewhere? :)

I think you should have included more of the boats, as it is I would crop out the boats altogether.

I did take a portrait shot aswell but I don't think I got it focused right.... that has a bit more of the boats in...... and I think I did take one from a further distance but I've not converted it from RAW yet so haven't really looked at it. The front boat was only a little plastic thing tied up with the blue bale twine stuff.... which unfortunately wasn't as photographically appealing as the larger back boat.

I never really thought of cropping the boats out though.....
 
the 2nd one is a lot better. The 1st one could do with some more contrast in the boats (y)
