or How to quickly adjust the central column height on a tripod?
I currently have a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod and I understand the central column is the "Rapid" type where a screw locates against the central column to secure it from moving.
I find this slightly awkward following my arm injury as I have to use my left hand un-naturally to unscrew / raise the column / rescrew - it might be easier if I could use a snap lock system, similar to how the legs are extended and controlled.
Has anyone had experience of the Vanguard AltaPro system - which has the Instant-Swivel-Stop-and-Lock mechanism, which at first glance looks ideal for me, but I wonder how good they are in reality?
Or can anyone suggest anything else?
