Well since I have a weekend free of weddings, I'm off to the London Marathon on Sunday

anyone else going?

I'll be at Tower Hamlets at the East London Runners/Fire Brigade water station.

My wife's a runner so will be helping out, but it also gives me a great position to get shots of things other than just a mass of runners

I shall be over as well. Marathon day is the best, proper good day out and see an awful lot of people doing something amazing.

We are following a few friends but it will be the usual haunts. Westferry, Oporto (pub), Booty's (pub) and Canary Wharf areas. Will have my camera as well for some shots of Friends, maybe just a P&S though.

I'm going with my wife to support our daughter.
2 bodies and 4 lenses I wil be carrying, one of which will be the bricklike 1D :)
Expect to be somewheer near mile 13/14.

Matt

tower hamlets is quiet - (get off the DLR at Poplar and its 2 minutes walk) thats why I go, easy to get to the side of the street without any bother - coppers are really friendly there too - usually ask me what paper I'm working for - ah the delights of a big L lens!!

Canary wharf generally is fine if you get there early enough

I stay away from London itself as you get too many grockles

and to answer another question - i take the 28-300 and just use that

I'll be at the City Pride pub (those are my orders!) to watch my daughter running. Apparently we get two chances to see her from there.

I was happen to be in London so used the opportunity to take few photos. It was a great day and amazing feeling to know all these people are doing something astonishing in the name of charity. Here are few pics, I'm uploading the rest on my Flickr set.

The big man himself, Sir Richard!
