Does anyone know the best/cheapest place to get a 25m length of cat5e from? Plenty of results on Google, but wanted to get some recommendations from those in the know...
Basically, I've currently got a phone line extension running from my main phone connection in my living room running up the stairs into the office, but it appears that it's starting to degrade and is affecting my connection (speedtest when connected to main socket approx 1.5mbps, when connected to extension it's about half that (and it was fine, so it's obviously degrading the signal now)
So, I only have one PC upstairs that requires a wired connection, so was thinking of a cat5e cable to pretty much replace the existing phone cable that's in, would take me about 20mins to wire up and have fully working, which I can live with.
I don't have any usable plug sockets within any sensible distance (only have one socket in the office, and that's being used for the PC (unless you can plug them in then plug an extension lead over the top of them, then that could be a solution).
Any thoughts - the cheaper the better, hence the cabling question!
