Long straps

I've searched through the equipment forum for strap suggestions but couldn't really see what I was looking for.
I would like a strap that is long enough to be able to carry a camera bandolier style and be able to lift up to my eye to take a picture - I am quite tall and most of my length is in my body - the stock strap on my D40 is a bit short.

Any suggestions?

I find a long strap is a pain - I shorten the straps to their shortest length, then loop them through carabiners attached to my body-armour - or camera bag straps - that stops them from falling down off my shoulders and means I can 'drop' one camera when I go for the other...

That way the camera bodies rest above my hips and can be 'pinned' by both hands when running to stop them flapping about and getting damaged...

I need one that reaches my hips before I can do that.

I saw some in Jacobs earlier that look like they might do the job

I got one not long ago because my carrying preference is the same as yours and I was sick of uncomfortable walks due to a camera hanging around my neck.

I now carry my camera bandolier fashion with it resting at my side, level with my left buttock, or sometimes a bit farther round. That gives plenty slack to lift the camera to my eye and my arm hangs naturally in a position that protects the camera.
The strap attaches to the camera by a double buckle arrangement on each side which I thought odd.
I did away with one buckle (which increases strap length) each side and when the length was adjusted to my comfort I superglued the strap at each buckle.

i use a combination of optech quick release to lengthen mine

I had looked at the Transporter as an option.
When you say a combination Ditchdigger, do you mean several extra bits out of another complete strap to increase the length?

The strap that comes with the 300 2.8 is long enough for me to carry as described, and I'm 195 cm.

But it's rather a lot of dosh to pay just for a strap.
