Very much liking #1. Purely because of the angle, I think your eyes are drawn to the horizon more than #2 and maybe it's the angle of the shot doing this. There also seems to be more detail of the beach in #1.

I would have perhaps done a shot with a quicker shutter, say 5s, to add some sharpness back the the water, but apart from that, very good photos

I like #1 and have noticed the mixed reaction to it. the smaller aperture in #1 probably explains the detail - I think I took #2 a few mins later - because I forgot my cable release I was stuck with 30s tops max exposure time!

Colours in both are great, and the detail (for want of a better word ) is great but I cannot for the life of me make up my mind about the first one

An angled sunset! Hmmm, I'm gonna have to think about this! (and I guess thats points in its favour!)
