I have a D90 and looking for a good primer lens for under £100. Preferable around the 35mm focal length. I have a 50mm but it's too zoomed in for what I want it for. I want one that is sharp and produces good photos. I don't mind older lens, used etc. Can anyone suggest a lens?

Thanks, I have been thinking about that lens a lot actually. It seems to be what I'm after. Not sure on that one really, the marks on the glass put me off.

+1 for the Nikon 35mm 1.8. I found it to be incredibly useful when I shot with a DX sensor camera.

35mm 1.8 does seem by far the obvious choice but I'd be very surprised if you didn't need to up the budget a little to get one. There isn't much else to choose from in all honesty. Decent older primes tend to go for a fair bit of money. The only other that springs to mind for the money is the 28mm 2.8 AF-D but the 35mm 1.8 is a far better lens in every way.

The 35mm 1.8 AF-S is a great little lens.

Should be able to get a used one for about £110-£120, but at that point why not just get a new one and have new warranty and no possible chance of marks and stuff.

the 35mm is a brilliant lens. So is the 50mm 1.8 too, and available used for £70 ish???

I have one for sale for £115 I think in the forum and you get a film camera included :p

It all depends what length you like best. Indoor the 35mm is probably best, but outdoor I found the 50mm much better. I have had a 50mm of some kind for years.

Am I allowed to point you in the direction of my 35mm? HERE! £105 :)
