In a few months I'm going to the observatory on Mt. Teide in Tenerife and while I'll have plenty of expensive equipment to do some deep-field astronomy, I'd love a lens that could capture the view of the night sky in all it's glory - as I'm sure it's going to be brilliant at near 2,400m!
I'm guessing I'll need something wide and fast, but I'm unsure as to what would be a good compromise.
I don't really want to spend more than £500.
(Also, I already have a Canon 70-300mm & 60mm macro at my disposal ... would the macro be good for this purpose?)
Advice would be great,
Thanks!
