Hey shutter bugs so I'm looking to buy a new camera. I am looking for a NIKON. I AM a web designer and I work with the boy scouts and civil air parol where I web design for both orgs and my frat. Any way the three orgs would like me to be their photographer. I would like to buy a NIKON like I said earlier. And all I know for sure is that I want it to have the continuous shooting feature. Money is not really an issue but I would not buy the most expensive camera just for the sake of buying an expensive camera. Dies any one have any suggestions as to what I should get? Thanks in advance and if I posted this in the wrong section I apologize.

I presume you mean you want a "high frames per second" continuous shooting feature ?
As above, an idea of budget does help - do you already have lenses or are these needed as well ?

you would be probs better off buying a second hand older camera and then having more to spend on some decent glass and other accessories. D200 or D90 maybe ? relatively cheap second hand, around £400 for a good one

35mm f1.8 nikon (gives you dof and a nice field of view)
Other lenses would be added later (eg a reallly wide perhaps...)
If you want to see the sorts of pics you can get, check the links in the sig to the lenses. Taken on a d300
I say to go for a d300 or d300s as its a semi pro and weather protected. But probably best to get to a used camera store and handle a few of the bodies. Also ask them whether they have the 35mm lens too... they may be able to offer a deal..?

this suggests that the op is in the USA so that's a budget of 5-700 $US.

A D300 or D300s could blow the budget, hmm, decisions...
True.. But you'd need the weather sealing...? Maybe a 17-50 tamron as well...

Probably the kit lens would do though and again, get to a store n handle them and others to see which feels right to you.
Loads of settings in the camera that can be utilised/experimented with.
If the d300/s is too much, perhaps the d90? Not weather sealed though. Or may be a d200...?

ive got a D200, dunno if its weather sealed but i take mountain bike shots and it usually gets covered in mud and gets used in the pouring rain and its always fine
