Well i go away up to the lake distict for a week at the end of the month and aslong as i can shift my fisheye in time ill be looking at getting a 70-200.

i have been using a tamron 70-300 which i picked up for 60 quid about 2 years ago just so i had a bit of zoom in my bag... as you can imagine the image quality from it is shocking and im now finding myself needing a zoom more and more!

I have been looking around and the sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG MACRO HSM II seems to be going for a reasonable price both new and 2nd hand. I know the macro isnt 'true' macro but the shorter focusing distance would be useful to me at times and i would also be able to throw a tele converter on if need be!

Has anyone used or own one and let me know if its any good/worth the money?

Cheers

Look no further than any of the Canons. Even the chepest f/4L non-IS will be stunningly sharp and also light. The Sigma doesn't quite perform to the same level for sharpness and contrast, but will obviously beat the tamron hands down (expect 17-40L sharpness from sigma, particularly in the corners).
