Hi all,

I know it's exceedingly lazy to ask this kind of question but after half an afternoon of searching the internet, watching boring youtube videos reviewing bags and trawling through online stores I thought I'd open a bottle of beer and ask the kind users of TP for some impartial, friendly, user based advice.

I used a Lowepro Fastpack 100 until recently which was perfectly suitable for my needs of a quick 2 hour location shoot where everything else (sandwiches, fruit, drinks) was left in the car. That was nicked along with all camera items inside so am now looking for something a little more substantial and has the ability to carry a tripod.

Requirements:

Room to carry:

  • 60D Gripped
  • 10-22
  • 50mm
  • Food
  • Water
  • Velbon Sherpa 600R tripod internally or externally
  • Torch
  • Other general photographic ancillaries, memory cards, filters, etc

A Kata 3N1-30 will easily hold your kit using the top section for food and bits etc.
 
Take a look at the FStop range of bags, plenty of room for camera AND normal hiking kit, but most importantly they carry really well.
 
Consider also the Vertex 300 AW. I have this, and it's excellent. Very light on it's own, so little extra weight as far as the bag is concerned. Fits all the kit in my sig in, with quite a bit of room to spare :)
