Looking for a smaller bag.....

Unlike a post a few threads down, I have a Lowepro 200AW which is fine for most things, but what I would like is something more subtle when just going to events, out for a dander etc.

I need something to basically hold a gripped 40d, mid range zoom attached and maybe a flash/UWA lens. Any recommendations?

I have had a look at the crumpler range, but TBH they seem expensive for what you get or are they that good? As this will be an occasional use bag, I was even considering a non-tog specific bag, but would need to get some sort of padding into it.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Kieran.

Lowepro Nova 2 AW? Cost me less than a fiver off an auction site and holds a D200 + 18-200 + SB-400 flash + bits & bobs...

Thanks. Nice bag, but what I am really after is something more subtle and less obvious as a camera bag. I already have a smaller Canon bag that it similar to the Nova 2.

Apart from the Crumpler range I can't think of any other 'non-camera bag' range...

Crumpler really are that good for blending in to joe public, obviously your fellow togs will see crumpler and it will scream CAMERA to them but i have a stealth reporter and one of the muffintop crumplers and the crumpler will be the one i use for if im going for a quick walkabout etc

Jill-e do some that look like handbags but you won't like the price if you think crumpler are expensive!

I've got a Crumpler Muffin Top 7500, and it suits my needs perfectly! It fits a 450D + Tamron 17-50, a 70-300 IS, 100mm macro, and flash. The previous owner had a gripped 50D, a big lens, a smaller lens, and some accessories as well, so it should suit your needs pretty well!

Thanks for the replies, it looks like crumpler is the way to go then. I will have to wait until i get home to research a bit more. All images are blocked at work and I really want to see the size of these things on a person!

Chris - the 7500 'reads' like a big bag - is it massive, as in messenger bag size?

Ah yes, crumpler are fairly well know for being a little optimistic when describing what fits in their bags! If you want, PM me your e-mail address and I'll take a photo if you like?

It's an average sized messenger bag type thing, you can get smaller ones (the whole range can be found here. If you're only after the gripped camera + lens, and an additional lens/flash, maybe the 4000 or 5500 would be large enough.

Chris
