Actually not for photographs but to scan in watercolour pictures and view in a browser window, no need for it to slide show but able to tag and order by date or keyword would be good. Not looking for anything online, just for my own use.

Anyone know of anything that may suit? Ideally Mac compatible.
 
I would suggest something such as Adobe Lightroom. You could capture the images using a conventional digital camera. Then optimise them in Lightroom and then keyword them . You can then search and sort the images in Lightroom and view the on that apps display. I was thinking of Apples "Photo" app but I don't think it is suitable because of the limited keywording option
