Looking for panorama stitching software

I'm looking for panorama stitching software that can handle a large number of raw files, allow adjustment to the stitched image as if it was a single image and that is available as a perpetual license.

My drone takes 21 photo panoramas (3 rows, 7 columns) which I've been processing in LR6 which makes it easy to put the images together, make some quick exposure and other adjustments then export the image. The only problem is it's slow which is likely due to the age of the software and I've been working on a large number of panoramas over the weekend which has been getting painful especially as I think it's leaking memory so it gets progressively slower.

For the last few years I've used Hugin, open source & free, and the results are excellent.

How bizarre I'm after the same after finding out LR can't handle my size panos with a larger sensor.

Tried Hugin and it's not as easy as LR, but maybe it mean's there more control for user. I'm struggling to work out how to not have it crop.

I've not used it but as @Ian Grant has suggested, Hugin gets good reviews.

The first panoramas I stitched together were about 25 years ago, at the time I used Micrografx Picture publisher possibly ver 9. This allowed layers, but they were called something different, something Photoshop hadn't added at the time. It was painfully slow I think 15 or 17 images, a print is 4.5cm x 40cm. There were slight glitches. I reprocessed with Hugin and perfect.

Tried Hugin and it's not as easy as LR, but maybe it mean's there more control for user. I'm struggling to work out how to not have it crop.

It's not initially intuitive, you have to persevere, but it's worthwhile. I rarely shoot multi-frame panoramas these days, I tend to shoot film with a 6x17 camera and a 75mm lens.

I shot a digital panoramic at Miletus (and ancient Greek city in Turkey) a few years ago, and the same image with the 6x17 camera, the film shot is more natural. I should post comparisons.

On1 Photoraw will also do it, but the stitching isn't as good as Lightroom, and sometimes it won't stitch images that LR handles without difficulty.

I did some comparisons some years ago (not including Hugin) and liked the results from PTGui, much better than I got from LR, Affinity Photo, and a third program I can't remember the name of.

But I wasn't sure if this was down to my inexperience of making panos with any of these programs, or whether PTGui was actually better.

It's interesting you mention "natural" because this was what I liked about the PTGui results.
