This is not a question but advice as it were...
If anyone has a Nikon lens where the rubber grip is loose (seems to be a fairly common occurrence) you can get replacements cheaply from Nikon themselves. It seems they are consumables and wear out over time, stretching a little and becoming loose. For both the zoom and focus rubber grips I just paid £5 each and £2 postage (for my 17-55).
It took about a minute to replace both (just slide one ones off and slide new ones on) and seems to have sorted out the problem...
There's loads of advice online about using glue and all sorts of other wacky ways but actually all you need to do is ring up Nikon spare parts. No glue needed.
