Lost custom settings on Nikon D50

The custom settings (pencil logo) on the menu of the Nikon D50 ought to number 20. So why can I only see 6? "Beep,autofocus,AF area mode, noSD card,image review and flash level". I only wanted to alter the self timer with friends and that was 2 hours ago!
 
Yes chumpalot I have - with no effect I'm afraid but thanks for your response. The self timer should be available on all modes - see page 101 of the manual. I've also tried a reset with no joy.
 
Very strange indeed.

What do you have your fn button set to? I believe this is set to self-timer by default though I could be wrong.
 
This applies to a D40, D50 may be similar?

Go to set up menu (spanner icon)
Select 1st option CSM/Setup menu
Select Full

You probably have it set to Simple.
I find the Custom setting very useful.
 
Bingo! Thanks SUVV. It was set to simple.
I realise I'm guilty of using my camera set to my favourite settings and leaving it all well alone for the most part. Then when I veer off my 'well-beaten track' I quickly get lost.
