Lost data on guestbook

I have a friend who has been running a website that had a well used guestbook. Just recently the company running the guestbook ceased to operate and they no longer have access to the daya from well wishers they gathered over the years.Is there any way they could recover the data?

IME, virtually none. :shake:
The servers and net connection would have been turned off when the company ceased trading, and the servers may well have been stripped out for asset disposal (or wiped and reused if rented). If your friends haven't got some form of copy themselves, then their data's gone. :thumbsdown:
