Guys

Dont know if this is the correct section to post in.

I shot a band last night and when I copied the images to my PC some shots I was expecting to be there werent.

So I downloaded the SanDisk Recovery Tool and ran it on the card, it recovered a large number of images, some I already had but when looking through the recovered images there were shots I'd taken but had never been transferred to my PC.

Has anyone else had a problem like this with images disappearing ? is it likely to be a camera or a card issue ? My gut feel its a card issue as the images are being recorded

Any thoughts on this gratefully received

I've never had that happen and have kept photos on a card for weeks before transfer to my pc.

Sounds like a possible memory card problem. A the data has been successfully created by the camera and is retrievable from the card with recovery software it's also possibly a file allocation table issue. I'd suggest formatting the card and taking a good number of photos to test if it recurs.

Send the card to Sandisk and they will replace it for you I wouldn't use it again.

Thanks for the tips guys... its really knocked my confidence, you know what its like, you shoot 200 shots in a night, if 10 go 'missing' how would you know ? I only spotted it because I took some from a balcony and none of them where there.

After recovering everything and comparing, one gig I'd lost 30 images compared to what was on my PC and now the hard job of comparing them all to integrate the missing ones back into the correct folder

:(

I guess this is why pro bodies have dual card slots... Although to be honest I have never had an issue.
