Out for a walkabout in London at the weekend and managed to lose my rubber eyepiece for the d300. Is this normal for it to fall off? and what should I replace it with - another DK-23 or is there something better that won't fall off so easily?
 
same problem on my canon 450D , seem to have solved it with a fine strip of pushed into the groove :thumbs: , on a slight tangent i was wandering round my local Currys/PcWorld the other day and noticed most of the eyecups were missing off the DSLR's , now either they have removed them or ..........
 
Had one fall off my D700. Now wary how I carry the camera. Risk of it falling off is when the back of the camera rubs against your clothing when you walk.
 
Use a bit of gaff tape to stop them coming off in the future if you've found this to be an issue. The old canon ones were notoriously bad. I've never had an issue :/
 
This is a pain. It can't be too hard to design something that stays put, can it?

While I'm in the mood for a grumble, why can't Canon offer centre pinch lens caps, and provide a hood with all their lenses, or at least the more expensive ones? I suppose Canon see this as another source of income, but they're ridiculously expensive and it just seems to be profiteering. How many people actually buy the Canon hoods, and how many visit eBay for a cheaper solution?

I'll have grumble about Nikon centre pinch lens caps. The pinch areas are too smooth to get a proper grip on. Worse when you need to squeeze thumb and forefinger inside a lens hood.
