Sorting the chaff today and decided to process this one, as they're both looking down the lens.

They are stunning birds.

This pair stayed relatively close but they did wander off from each other now and again. It was almost time to pack up when they got really close and the light came too. It was a magical few minutes of light with the Grebes very close together. They showed signs of doing the weed dance but not quite.

The 100-400 mkii seems to be getting every single grain out of the R7's sensor. I've never owned a lens quite so sharp as this one.
