Hi there can anyone give me any recomdations to a low budget all rounder lens. I have been accepted an offer of £90 for a sigma 28-200 f/3.5-5.6 dg sld but alot of reviews say the image quality is not much cop! Alot of beople keep saying the canon 55-250 IS but im not sure. is there anything else. please help
Im only an amateur put im still after fairly good image quality.

thanks for the reply. I thought somone might say that. I dont know why i keep coming away from it though. May be another look is in order!

can you only get the 55-250 with IS

Will this be your only lens? You have the body only? Or do you already have the 18-55?

If so, the the 55-250 makes complete sense, if not, I'd get the wider lens first.

I have got the 18-55 kit lens and a 70-300 and also an old 35-80

An example of what im looking for is say im at a zoo (just a suggestion) and there is a nice little tiger sitting up on its tree or whatever, and then im at the penguin pool with the little nipper trying to munch my toes, 18-55 is not going to be much good for the tiger and the 70-300 is no good for the penguin hence a lens which can cover both.
but as i said which im sure im not the only one is that im a poor married man with two small children and bills bills bills.

So you want a do everything lens!
There's the older tamron 18-250 which I believe doesn't come with image stabilisation, or the sigma 18-250 which does i think!! Or a bit more money would get you the tamron 18-270! There are 2 versions of this lens the newer 1 has a new motor in it I think and better iq!!!

Im not asking for much am I :p.
Thanks very much i will look straight into them now.
