Hi,

Been looking with envy at all the cad west pictures.

Is there anywhere near Glasgow that you can see low flying Aircraft from above.

Going slightly :cuckoo: without my car at the moment so will need to get public transport :bang:

No where near Glasgow. Too much civil traffic.

The A9 at Pitlochry is known as Stars Wars Valley and the RAF do use it often, its named as such because the pilots say its like the sequence in the Movie where the little space fighters weave between the valleys

other places are the Selkirk Valley which has been very very quiet in recent months

at the moment it Scotland have a bit less 'traffic' than normal as 617 squadron are 'overseas'

Nearest area to Glasgow would be up at Rest and be Thankful/Lochgoilhead area for low flying RAF!

Tebay on the M6 isn't too far really either but I don't think that there is anywhere else in the UK where you are guaranteed as much traffic as the Mach Loop (& even it has quiet days).
Another potential would be the Spadeadam ranges (there's an exercise due there shortly).

As has been mentioned Scotland has so much area designated for low flying that even though we have a relatively large amount of a/c it's a bit of a needle in a haystack.

As has been mentioned the Rest and be Thankful range is used a lot for Tornado practice. One recently crashed into the hillside there with both pilots dying I'm sure.
