I bought one of these yesterday, the reason being, as mentioned in another thread, that I needed a smaller bag that would be acceptable to Ryan Air as carry on luggage but would also still carry a decent amount of gear. To be honest though I was looking for something instead of my Lowepro 350 Fastpack anyway as once loaded with camera gear, laptop and other stuff it is very heavy, in fact even with nothing in it its quite a big heavy bag.
The 300 Flipside is a very compact looking bag but is surprisingly roomy and it comfortably holds my 7D with EF-S 15-85 attached, EF-S 10-22 and EF 70-300L with hood reversed (would also take the longer 70-200 f4 L instead). It also has room for a flash and there is a removable accessories bag in the main compartment, which would be useful for storing a compact camera, charger, leads, etc.
It also has an external side pocket for a few bits and pieces (cards, phone, pen, etc), an external mesh pocket, which is probably for a water bottle, and it has fastenings to carry a tripod.
So for anyone looking for a compact backpack with good capacity (for camera gear only) that will be accepted by the stingiest of low cost airlines as carry on luggage then the flipside 300 would be a good bet.
