Lowepro Magnum V. Lowepro Commercial

Hey guys,

I have been looking for a bag recently that can serve me as a dual purpose. This meaning that it could be used as a camera bag, as well as a bag for university. My recent bag for university crapped out on me, and the backpack i have for camera gear is now too small for both purposes. I have tried the Magnum 400AW and found it perfect for my use, and carrying capacity, however when fully loaded it was too heavy to use for my normal day which consists of 10-15km on foot.

There was also the commercial which downside was due to it being slimmer and longer it could not carry certain items that I require. However I liked how it had a waist strap, which would work very well for me, since I sometimes run to catch a train/bus.

I personally would prefer an ergonomic backpack, the only one that i know that meets this criteria is the Crumpler Customary Barge deluxe, but at a price of $405 its hard for me to agree that, that price is reasonable.

If you have any suggestions, or any experience between these two, please kindly post here. I don't plan to carry my bag fully loaded, but I will when flying to countries; which I often do.

I carry several books, and notepads, a netbook, nikon d200 + 24-70mm, Bessa R2a + pancake lens, coffee flask and a whole bunch of other crap.

Thanks for reading.
