Hi, looking for a backpack to carry a 40d with canon 300mm 2.8, mostly with 1.4x also (47cm) and a few other bits. I was looking at the lowepro runner 450 aw, any one any experience?

I have aslo considered the tamrac expedition 8, lowepro vertex 300 but the runner 450 is a good price at a little over £100.
 
No experience with the Lowepro Runner I'm afraid but I've just bought one of the Vertex 300 bags and I'm very impressed. It's a different shape to most bags being the same size at the top as it is at the base.

Always liked the Lowepro stuff and been using a Mini Trekker for a similar setup to yours (Nikon) The bag held most things I needed but as I work in the field a fair bit I prefer the body and lens to go in as a combo not seperately. The Vertex allows me to do this with ease.
